Contact us and we’ll put together a quote for you…
At Smart T’s we closely monitor prices for bespoke branding to be able to offer the best rate possible and remain competitive or, indeed to meet your budget. So, if you would like Smart T’s to cost your particular project, please contact us by phone, email or via the Contact page. Your enquiry will be answered promptly with helpful, friendly advice.
Unfortunately manufacturer’s apparel prices are subject to change – occasionally exchange rates, cotton yields or simply inflation effect rates so it simply isn’t possible to create a price-calculator online. Please get in touch or, if you’re feeling brave enough you may complete our on-line enquiry form and we will be delighted to offer comprehensive prices for you.
You can see a small selection of Printed and Embroidered work in the Custom Gallery – please click on the option just below the page title to see them.
- supply your design/logo (embroidery is priced on number of stitches)
- garment style (T, Polo, Sweat, Hoodie, Rugby, Fleece etc)
- shirt quality (short term wear, regular wear ‘fashion’/’leisure’, regular wear ‘work’ environment)
- colour of logo (will it show on the colour of garment I have chosen?)
- garment colour (will the logo show on this colour garment?)
- quantity (low volume 1 or 2, mid volume 10+ or high volume 100+)
Generally we need to see your design or logo to be able to assess the number of stitches – this will require you sending the design to us in advance of a quotation being calculated. In some cases we may be able to use our experience and offer “estimates” without seeing the image but all will be subject to sight of artwork – simple “company names”, in standard fonts, can usually be estimated but if you have text in a curve or graphics or unfamiliar fonts, we really will need to see the image before confirming prices. If you use our design service to create your artwork we will only be able to quote once the design is completed and a full stitch-count is calculated. Any price prior to sight of artwork will be an estimation only.
We assume you want embroidery either to create a better impression or for greater longevity or possibly the advantage of higher temperature washing than print will allow so you will need to consider the quality and style of the garment you intend to have branded; there will be little point contemplating low-grade “promotional quality” garments as they will not be robust enough to accept stitching or sustained longevity; there are, of course perfectly good garments that can accept this decoration process at reasonable prices – we can easily advise on which to use. Depending on certain environs you may need to consider wash temperatures – ‘mechanics’ garments may require washing at temperatures of 60º or 90º for ‘catering’ staff, which not only makes any print process unwise but the garment itself needs careful selection. Whatever your requirements – whether that be durability, longevity or comfort (or all three!) – the end-use will help us to determine the right garment to best fulfil your needs. See our On-Line catalogues for most of our range here.
Planning ahead also helps. Your order of garments may include a mixture of colours and that may necessitate thread colour changes during the run; generally we are happy to make a change for one thread colour to another without charge. However, we cannot make continual changes without passing on some of the cost of the ‘down-time’ incurred in doing so.
Likewise, it may also be wise to consider your design colour(s) from the outset so that any mix colours of garments are suitable for the design to show clearly; perhaps we need to ensure the disk is written to make it possible to change part of the logo without effecting other areas; your input will help ‘future proof’ the design to avoid unnecessary costs for possible future changes; a little consultation from the outset can offer benefits.
In general terms, prices reduce per unit with volume – the more you order, the cheaper each one can be; you may order ONE garment to be stitched but bespoke designs require the same time to upload the embroidery programme and apply the correct thread colours for one as 101 so spreading this cost over a low number of units will make a single item relatively expensive; of course, for adding a person’s name or job title (“monogramming”) this is likely only to be low-volume but we have processes to help keep such prices down. From your proposals we are able to advise the “cost-effective” number or route for each order to allow you to make your own informed decision before you proceed.
Whatever your project, profession or club, if you can answer our questions, we can answer your needs – we’re only a phone call away!

Once your design has been accepted we will arrange the embroidery programme to be written (the “disk”) and will then run a sample swatch proof for your approval before we decorate any garments. If you would like to assess the quality or even the sizes of the proposed garment(s) we can arrange for this, too. Only following your approval will we embroider. This ensures you know what to expect before you open the box!

Our Embroidery turnaround time is normally 10 working days from approval of the swatch proof and receipt of your purchase order (subject to payment terms); but there is time required from receipt of artwork to writing the embroidery programme and supplying you with the proof. We can often meet urgent deadlines but delays in confirming approval or placing your garment order may not be possible to make up. Time-sensitive orders should be discussed as early as possible. We would always prefer to turn you down than let you down so do not take on work we cannot meet the deadline for.
If you are supplying a design or a logo for use in embroidery, please read the following guidelines on how best to send this to us:
- We are able to make use of most designs or images that you send us – even a rough sketch! However, if your design requires work by our Designers or Studio Team to make it useable for embroidery, additional artwork charges may apply.
- For simple image amendments or ‘tidying up’ we will normally perform this free. For complex designs and new creations by our artwork team, our costs are £25 per hour (plus VAT). If you are unsure, please send your artwork file in to us for assessment.
- We are able to use many file formats for embroidery as the stitching programme is “over-written” or “traced” from your file meaning we can often use JPEG, PDF, Illustrator or Photoshop files (ai, eps or psd). Resolution is less of a concern for embroidery but we must be able to define the image to be able to write over it; word documents (or similar PC files) are best converted to JPEG or PDF format first.
